Episode 14

Christmas is coming early for Sachin this year. We decided that he has no idea what the day really means/stands for so instead of bombarding him on Christmas Day, we are giving him his presents earlier so he can enjoy them. So Andy was the first to go...he got him a Elmo Live, which I first thought was a waste of money and just falling into advertising but when I saw Sachin's face and reaction to it, I caved. He just lit up and hugged and kissed him, so we knew he was going home with us.

Then my cousin Mandy (who is visiting) gave him his present early (abc magnets). The toy sings the ABC song and then helps you pronounce the letter correctly. Sachin as already picked up quite a few letters by listening to it over...and over...and over again.

Finally Grandma and Grandpi (Andy's mom and dad) got Sachin a pretend kitchen. He recently started to pretend "cook" with my real pots and pans, so we knew he would love something that was more his size. We were right. He loves it. So we are getting "juice and pancakes" on a regular basis from El Restaurant De Sachin (I don't even know if that is even a proper sentence).

Today Sachin had a play date with his friend Abhi and they were hugging like two old men or as if they haven't see each other in weeks, it was very cute. Then we got them to settle down and pose for a picture by the tree.
The funniest thing about the two of them is that they don't really play "together" they play as if there is a 5 second delay. What I mean by this is, if Sachin is rocking in the rocking chair, Abhi will then go and rock. If Abhi is on the slide, then Sachin will go on the slide...etc...etc. The good thing is that don't fight (yet) for toys.

Episode 13

Happy Birthday Andy!

In my last post I forgot to mention that Andy had a big birthday in November. On the 24th he turned the big 30! So here are some pictures from that day. Unfortunately everyone was sick and Sachin had an ear infection so we just cut a cake at home. For his birthday Andy asked that I not buy him a present...Weirdo! So I planned to surprise him by finishing the basement where he works out. So now he'll have proper floors/walls and a full length mirror. I'll post a pick once it is done. Mama/Papa and Manny/Neena contributed to the funds needed as their gift to Andy. Can't wait for it to be done.

Episode 12

It has been a busy couple of weeks in the Toor household, so I haven't been able to keep our blog up to date. So here is the quick rundown of what has been going on. Andy is almost done school (10 days to be exact) and we both can't wait! He has work very hard on his Master's and it is well deserved. Sachin's vocabulary is growing like mold. He is using two words together much more and sometimes even three. For example, he says "night night mommy" or when he saw Ashmina napping on the sofa he said, "memma sheepy" (ashmina sleeping). The most fascinating thing that he does right now is when he completes a song or parts of a song as I'm singing them. Like if I sing rain rain go away...come again another day, he'll say rain rain away...come noder day. Or when I sing 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed....mama called the doctor and the doctor said---- he says no more monkey bed. If I can get him to say that on camera that will be my next post.

The video that I'm posting today is of a new game that he plays in the kitchen. He sits in the corner cabinet and tries to close the door. Then he says "bye-bye mommy" and thinks that I can no longer "see" him. Even though half of his body is still hanging out. It is very cute. And when he says, "cheese" while looking at the camera, that is because he thinks that I'm trying to take his picture so he should say "cheese."
