Sachin is on the track to being a big boy, therefore, he is leaving his babyhood behind. This past weekend was full of emotional realizations of this fact. First, I finally got around to packing summer clothes away and bring out the winter gear. As I put away his baby undershirts and onesise I was remembering when I first took them out in preparation for summer. He has grown dramatically in just a season and when I put it against his little belly and saw the difference I had to take a deep breath in to let go of his baby-ness (that's probably not even a word). I know I'm suppose to look forward and be excited about all the new things he is learning, however, this is my way of dealing with it.
So to push me over board, we packed his crib away and bought a big boy bed for him. He still sleeps in our room, but on his own bed. We didn't know how he was going to react or even sleep in it for longer than a minute, but he did. We got him Elmo sheets to lure him to his bed. We sat on the floor next to him and read him a couple of books and then it was lights out. He rolled around and around and 1 1/2 hours later he still wasn't asleep was very drowsy, so I gave in and told Andy to just pick him up and before Andy could finish his song, he was out! He slept in his bed till 4 am, when he said, "peesh...peesh" (please, please) so I put him in our bed. It was only after that, that I slept. I was so worried he'd fall out of the bed that I couldn't sleep. We did this again last night.

You're right..he does look like he's awake while sleeping...he seems so excited while putting the bed together!...Love him!
