Episode 11

Friday was Sachin's first time back at Babygarten since early summer. Babygarten is a program at the library here, where kids upto 18 months get together once a week to sing songs, read a book and play together. Sachin has been going since the for almost a year now. He recognizes songs and dances, and loves to watch the other kids play. He acts very shy as he watches what everyone else is doing and then looks at me to see if I saw that too. This time he was walking behind the teacher Ms. Heather saying "ello" (hello) over and over. He listened to her when she told him to pick a book or put the rattle away etc. Then at the end the kids did a free play and Sachin was playing with foam blocks and actually made a tower and immediately knocked it down. This was very thrilling for him and for me to see his coordination get better.

After class, we went to the mall since Sachin was ready for his nap which meant I could shop in peace. Didn't find anything great. Once he was awake, I took Sachin over to the play area that is airplane themed. He was running up and down the "wings" of the plane and doing his new thing where he lays down and slides around on his tummy cleaning the floor as is moves.

Saturday was a day of cleaning. Andy was hell bent on my finally cleaning my closet so he said he would help. Well he knows me so well that him just saying he's going to clean it, only makes me want to clean it myself (yes, I have control issues). So I said I would put things into piles and he can organize those. Meanwhile Sachin destroyed those piles and had a great time running in and out of the closet or trying on my shoes. Once done it was a great feeling and I promised to keep it clean for at least a month.
Later I got a call from Jeanine (Abhi's mom) asking if we could babysit Abhi. I said yes since I knew Sachin would love it and we weren't doing anything anyways. So later that evening they came over and Sachin was hyper! He wouldn't stop saying "AAAAbhiii" and showing him all of his toys. I didn't mention that Abhi was over only two days earlier for a playdate so he had just seen him. Abhi had only seen Andy twice before so he was a bit shy from him. It was nice for Andy to see Sachin interact with another kid his age.

Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. Once they were done, they played some more and got ready for bed. Andy brought down Sachin's mattress and set it up in his study (so we could be near the boys). Sachin has a fold out Elmo sofa (that Preity massi got him) that we set up next to the mattress. The idea of Sachin having his first semi-sleepover and having his friend sleep on his fold out couch was too cute for me and Andy to get over. The boys bounced from one bed to the other, laughing and giggling like two little monkeys jumping on the bed.
